“Why Me, Why NOW?”

I ran across an interesting quote on “twitter” from Oprah today.  The quote read, “Why you? Because there’s no one better.  Why now? Because tomorrow isn’t soon enough”.  ~ Donna Brazile

This was right on time and I immediately thought of my favorite scripture Jeremiah 29:11. The word of God says: (ncv) “I say this because I know what I am planning for you, says the Lord.  I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.”  I have often asked the question “WHY ME?” and then I go further, “WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?”  and “HOW LONG WILL I HAVE TO GO THROUGH?” and if I focus on the problem the list of questions can go on and on and on.  I believe in the power of asking questions, however the aforementioned questions are questions that keep you focused on the problem instead of the answer.

If I ask the question seeking an answer, than I open myself up to realizing that it’s because GOD has good plans for me!!!  God’s plan is not to hurt me and God promises to give me hope and a good future.  So God allows us to go through things because it is a part of God’s Divine Plan.  As Christians we will at times stop with the verse we like… but I read a little further and Jeremiah 29:12 &13 reads (ncv):  “Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me!”

These two versus answered for me the “WHY NOW?”  God has a plan and GOD desires to be in relationship with us.  Over the years, we get so busy or on top of the world that we leave GOD out.  So I believe that God masterfully ordains situations to happen in our lives so that we call on THE NAME OF GOD and SEEK GOD to FIND GOD in all things.  I know that this is not easy,  but I believe that God gives us the strength, the help, and the power to do this in the name of JESUS.

Question to Ponder: Who or what do you run to when asking the question “Why ME, Why NOW?”
